Saturday Sweets: Monster Milkshakes at Boca's House in Doral

It’s not often that I find myself in Doral, but when I heard about the insane milkshakes being served at Boca’s House, I knew I needed to check it out. Boca's House is a Peruvian-Venezuelan fusion spot boosting huge Tomahawk steaks and lots of ceviche options.

While I did stuff myself with dinner instead of diving straight into dessert, I made sure I had plenty of room to try a few of their shakes.  We tried the three most popular flavors and could instantly see why their Instagram account has grown to over 171k followers in such a short period of time, with most tagged photos being of the famed milkshakes.

First up: The Tres Leches Milkshake

To be completely honest, I’m not at all a fan of tres leches.  Now I know that makes me a terrible Miamian, but the idea of wet cake just doesn’t do it for me.  Or should I say, didn’t do it for me – until this milkshake walked into my life.  Cinnamon ice cream topped with an ice cream cone filled with more cinnamon ice cream and a piece of tres leches cake.  This is a milkshake you can’t wait around to eat; it quickly gets drippy but is oh so delicious.

Next: Cookies and Cream Milkshake

Cookies and Cream is a classic flavor that’s always been hard to say no to.  This milkshake takes it to an entirely new level.  Cookies and cream ice cream in a cookie crumb rimmed glass topped with a blonde cookies and cream brownie and then a giant syringe of Nutella, just to amp it up a bit.  There’s got to be what seems like 100 cookies crumbled into this shake.  A true cookie lover’s dream!

Last but not least: Nutella Brownie

I saved the best for last.  Nutella. Brownie.  Have two more wonderful words ever been spoken?!  When asked what my last meal on Earth would be if I got to choose it would be a brownie sundae covered in Nutella.  This milkshake is PURE Nutella, then it’s topped with a super fudgy chewy amazing brownie that’s covered in even more Nutella, with an extra scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and Nutella truffles.  It’s safe to say there’s a least a full jar of Nutella used in each shake and coming from a girl who has two jars of Nutella in her cabinets at all times (one for baking purposes and one to eat out of with a spoon), that’s a lot of Nutella.

Believe it or not, these aren’t the only milkshakes on the menu.  Boca’s House likes to mix it up with holiday themed milkshakes, collaboration milkshakes, and there’s also a birthday milkshake that’s so fancy you actually have to show proof it’s your birthday.  At $16 a pop, it may seem a lot for a milkshake, but trust me you really only need one for the table.  Once you order it, have your camera ready because those Instagram photos need to be taken quickly before everyone digs in!
