National Burger Month: PB Station Burger by the Pubbelly Boys

The Pubbelly Boys have done it again!  The recently opened historic Langford Hotel in the former Miami National Bank downtown is home to the new PB Station and Pawn Broker Bar and Rooftop Lounge

In honor of National Burger Month, we thought we would highlight the delicious PB Burger. Created using their own blend of meat, bacon confit, Swiss cheese, and smoked bordelaise it is served on a brioche bun with plenty of crispy French fries.  The meat is juicy and cooked to perfection, while the bacon has just the right saltiness and the Swiss cheese balances it out.  The PB Burger is part of the $25 three course PB Station Express Lunch menu offered Monday-Friday from 11:30-2:30.

The Pubbelly Boys; Jose Mendin; Managing Director, Andreas Schreiner; and Design Director, Sergio Navarro, first came onto the Miami food scene in 2010 with their creatively sourced and innovative Pubbelly in what was once an odd section of Miami Beach called Sunset Harbour.   Auto body shops, warehouses, and a couple fitness centers were the anchors in what is now one of the hottest food scenes in Miami with hip restaurants like, NaiYaRa, La Moderna, Lucali, Sushi Garage, and a huge Fresh Market.

After Pubbelly, they opened Pubbelly Sushi next door and PB Steak down the street. They are also are credited with bringing unique dining to Norwegian Cruise Line’s Escape with Food Republic.  And a creative attempt at brasserie food with the now closed l’echon Brasserie in the Hilton on 62nd and Collins.

They are a risk takers…venturing into unknown areas, trying new concepts and menus and generally celebrating Miami as a diverse and exciting place to be

PB Station and the rooftop bar, The Pawn Broker, is just that kind of project.  In speaking with Chef Mendin, his passion for exploring new areas and the Pubbelly Boys first foray into a cocktail lounge is apparent. On a stretch of Downtown Flagler, the newly renovated Langford Hotel feels like a throwback to an era of Diamond Jim Brady and Art Deco elegance.  A original brass detailed elevator trip to the roof reveals a cozy bar and outdoor lounge with creative cocktails and gorgeous view at night.

PB Station, with its entrance on the ground level right next to the hotel entrance is in keeping with that that same era of elegance.  Designed with a welcoming front area bar, soaring ceiling and gleaming tile, it is reminiscent of old time train travel, with various train destinations along the wall…Baltimore, Chicago, New York.   The seating is plush, and menu a mix of Pubbelly creativity and PB Steak favorites and the PB Burger is just one of the highlights.

So whether you go for the PB Burger, to celebrate National Burger Month, or any other meal, “pack lightly” and enjoy the trip back in time to the elegance of Art Deco in Miami.

All Aboard!  Next stop PB Station.
