I'm really into supporting local and I'm a sucker for subscription boxes - because it's like a present that just keeps giving! This year my favorite foodie gift is the JoJo Tea quarterly gift club. Every three months the lucky recipient will receive seven different tea samples including single origin and herbal infusion varieties, a piece of tea-ware, a pass to the JoJo Tea Tasting room, and special members only content. If you like tea and haven't had JoJo Tea, then you're missing out.  https://sipjojo.com/product/the-jojo-club/

I am obsessed with The Joule!  An at-home sous vide system that turns out the juiciest steaks, chops, and chicken I have ever made.  And it works with app on Smartphone.  Crazy techie cooking item.  https://www.chefsteps.com/joule

Add on a Sous Vide At Home Cookbook, too https://www.amazon.com/dp/0399578064/ref=rdr_ext_tmb

I also think a French press is always a great gift! And of course, an awesome knife!! :)

Two years ago, Steve bought me the Anova Sous Vide, and it’s still one of my favorite kitchen gifts ever.  https://www.amazon.com/Anova-Culinary-Precision-Bluetooth-Circulator/dp/B00UKPBXM4/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1513195423&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=anova+sous+vide&psc=1

I love this sleek stainless-steel tea set from Minos Living available on Amazon.  Or choose other fun stainless coffee and tea items from Minos as well. https://www.amazon.com/Minos-Stunning-Polished-Teapot-Cup/dp/B01M2DKLAN/ref=sr_1_8?m=A12Y62JSG0ZC2X&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1513190201&sr=1-8

I also like gifts for the holidays like magazine subscriptions or monthly gift box deliveries because the recipient continues to receive something even after the holidays are over! Also, they're easy to purchase even last minute, and you don't need to brave the holiday rush at the stores.  Here are a few that are great:

For men who like to cook: Mantry--monthly artisanal gift box specifically curated for the male cook/gourmand. www.mantry.com

•   For cocktail lovers: Imbibe Magazine subscription. www.imbibemagazine.com

•   For the coffee aficionado: Drift Away coffee subscription--www.driftaway.coffee

•   Other Magazines include:  Gastronomica, Lucky Peach, Sugar & Rice

I just bought MYSELF a foodie gift (ha ha) that I think will be a cute idea. It’s a cast iron skillet with a Ghiradelli Sea Salt brownie baking kit inside. They have others with cookie mix and something else.

Also, Mouth.com - the American-made indie foods, spirits and gift experts based in Brooklyn - has several new products for the holidays.  Favorites include gift kits:

Holiday Crush Cocktail Kit - This seasonal kit comes with gin, cranberry liqueur and a beautifully designed Mason jar cocktail shaker to do it up right – all the top-shelf basics needed to mix up a Holiday Crush, our favorite drink to serve at holiday parties!

Holiday Morning Kit  - Bloody Mary mix for the grown-ups, hot chocolate for the kiddos and pancakes for everyone! This tasty collection makes a fabulous gift for Christmas and New Year’s mornings.

This is the perfect gift for the taco lover in your life!! They will not know how they lived without it.  Heat 6 tortillas at a time!! No more standing over the pan heating one tortilla at a time, or heaven forbid they get heated in the microwave.  This revolutionary appliance from Nuni is regularly $99, but it is on sale for $79 this holiday season.  The Nuni Tortilla Toaster  https://www.nunitoaster.com/

My “out of town” family and friends all benefited this year from Goldbely!  This unique site offers special regional food gifts and subscriptions.  Send that Uncle in Wisconsin some lobster mac & cheese, that cousin in LA, Cuban sandwiches, or your snobby NYC friend some LaDuree macarons.  They even have Milk Bar Crack Pie and Truffles! Or gift a Best of Goldbely 3-month subscription (enough food for 4 people) of the best food items delivered each month. AND if you order using code PIZZA2203, you will receive $25 off your first order! goldbely.com/?dc=pizza2203.

I also liked the fancy look of the Bliss Home Swarovski Wine Charms (Set of 12) at https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/F6F0E87B-C87F-4076-81BC-4FCBAA4C0C43. These magnetic wine charms are set in a velvet backing and arrive in a beautiful, sturdy box - perfect for gifting or storage.

Uncommongoods.com has also always been my “go to” catalog for fun but functional, good quality gift items and this year my faves include Gourmet Dipping AVOO and Spice Kit,  Foodie Pencil Set, and a wearable but inedible Gold-plated bowtie necklace. http://blog.uncommongoods.com/2017/foodie-gifts/?source=blog_gglist17

How about a family-friendly gift of a FunDimension gift card or Brunch with Santa? FunDimension is Wynwood's hottest new destination for family fun. https://www.fundimensionusa.com/

Patty Kinne- @pkinne12

Local clothing from Martha of Miami. Show your love for local! https://www.marthaofmiami.com/collections/women/products/but-first-cafecito-long-sleeve-women

The way to my heart is with cheese, and a Murray's Cheese of the Month Club Subscription is the gift that keeps on giving -- monthly. Each delivery also comes with beer and wine pairing suggestions. http://www.murrayscheese.com/monthly-clubs

The best gift that I have ever received is an annual James Beard Foundation Membership, which also includes a gift certificate to utilize for dinner at the James Beard House in New York City. This was definitely one of the best dining experiences of my life. https://www.jamesbeard.org/join-us

Spadle is the incredibly versatile spoon that twists into a ladle. As a large cooking spoon it has all of the features of the best-selling Supoon – a flat squeegee tip to scrape your pan or bowl clean, a deep ½ cup scooping head, heaps of useful measuring lines, and a handle that acts as a built-in spoon rest. A simple twist of Spadle’s handle cleverly transforms it into a ladle perfect for serving soups or stews.  https://dreamfarm.com/us/spadle/

Nudo Adopt is the original and Award Winning Olive Tree Adoption Program, supporting artisan farmers for over 10 years.   Nudo Adopt is a collaboration of small-scale, artisanal producers. The program is a platform for micro-producers to bring high-quality, specialty food to a wider audience. https://www.nudoadopt.com/

And don’t forget gift cards to favorite restaurants or consider making a donation in a friend or family members name to a local food bank.  Local non-profits to support include, Feeding South Florida, Food Pantries, Slow Food, No Kid Hungry and Common Threads.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and joyful Holiday season!
