Pubbelly Sushi Expands to Kendall with New Dadeland Location
After seven years of great success on the beach (among other places), has finally made its way to Downtown Dadeland and the Kendall crowd is in for a serious Pubbelly Sushi treat. Jose Mendin and his team are bringing some of Miami’s favorite dishes to those of us who live out west and we’re so ready for it
The menu is the same as the other locations,with a familiar breakdown: Classics, Snacks, Robata Grill, Sashimi, Rolls, and Vegetables.
Pubbelly Sushi is the perfect spot if you’re looking to order a ton of dishes to share. Start the meal with a few classics like the tuna tartare or rockshrimp tempura (go for it buffalo style) and then move onto the snack and robata grill section. Everything is delicious — try ordering a few dishes from each section for the full experience. When ordering the rolls, don’t skip on the Butter Krab Roll served with truffled clarified butter or the Navarro Salmon roll with Serrano peppers and mozzarella. Yes, cheese on sushi — sounds strange, tastes delicious.
It shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone that I’m most excited about the desserts. Having access to Chef Maria Ortanes’ miso bread pudding and coco loco dessert within five minutes of my house may be the most dangerous thing about this location. If nothing else, make sure to save room for dessert because these are some of the best in Miami. The coco loco is a frozen whole coconut filled with compressed pineapples, spiced blondies, brown butter streusel, and textures of coconut. Textures like whipped cream, ice cream, toasted coconut flakes. It’s a coconut lovers dream. I’ve had this dessert at least 15 times and it’s just as good every time.
Pubbelly Sushi Dadeland is open for lunch daily at noon and is open until 10PM Sunday through Wednesday and until 11PM Thursday through Saturday. The restaurant offers a daily Happy Hour from 4 PM to 7 PM as well as Late Night Happy Hour Sunday through Thursday from 9 PM to closing. Three hours of self- parking is free with validation; valet is available for $5.
