Saturday Sweets: Five Desserts Ready in Under Five Minutes
Ever have one of those moments where you're craving something sweet but you're out of the goods? We've all been there. This week's Saturday Sweets is all about satisfying those cravings quickly (under 3 minutes) using stuff you're most likely to find in your pantry on a regular basis. Mug cakes are exactly what you're looking for. These simple desserts take just a minute to assemble and about the same to cook.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip:
4 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1/4 cup fat-free milk
3 tbsp creamy peanut butter
3 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chunks or chocolate chips
Snickerdoodle:
1/4 cup + 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup milk, at room temperature
2 tbsp salted butter, melted and cooled
1/2 tsp vanilla
For layering/topping:
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Molten Chocolate:
2 tbsp butter, melted and cooled
1 egg
3 tbsp heavy cream
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
4 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tbsp unsweetened baking cocoa
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 pinch of salt
3 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips
S’mores
¼ cup flour
3 tbsp sugar
¼ tsp baking powder
1 tbsp cocoa
dash salt
¼ cup milk
2 tbsp oil
small splash vanilla
3 tbsp mini marshmallows (divided with half to top after)
3 tbsp chocolate chips or chocolate candy bar (divided with half to top after)
1 graham cracker (divided with half to top after)
hot fudge sauce (for drizzle after)
Matcha Latte:
4 tbsp all purpose flour
1 tbsp + 1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp matcha powder
2 tbsp heavy cream
2 tbsp fat free milk
1/2 tsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp water
Directions:
Step one: Mix dry ingredients into the mug of your choice
Step two: Add wet ingredients and whisk with fork
Step three: Microwave on high for 1 minute, it may need an extra 15 seconds or so
Step four: Let cool and enjoy!
