Miami Food Halls: A Guide from MIAbites

The Food Hall phenom in Miami continues with 2 new halls opening just this week. Shoma Bazaar in Doral and Smorgasburg in Wynwood join Citizens MiamiCentral as the newest additions to food hall dining.

But what is a food hall and why is Miami so obsessed with this dine-around experience. We have tried to rank and rate each one “In Our Opinion” based on food options, bar scene, ambiance and overall vibe. The benefit of food hall dining is the chance for everyone in your group to choose their own meal be it Asian, Italian, Fried Chicken or any combo of the above.

Many top chefs can showcase their best dishes in a food hall setting without needing to open a freestanding restaurant and hire full staff. Existing restaurants can add to their exposure and revenue by using a food hall as a popup outpost. Or use the food hall as testing ground for new menu items.
