RED South Beach returns in a new space with outdoor dining

RED South Beach is back and bigger and better and with outdoor dining! Partners, Executive Chef Peter Vauthy and Managing Partner Aaron Hammer, of Bisteca Hospitality Group, are excited to open their new location at 801 South Pointe Drive, in the South of Fifth neighborhood.

When COVID precautions required that all restaurants close except for take out and delivery, Chef Peter got creative and added Fried Chicken Fridays ”to go” and a Butcher Shop of his finest cuts of meat. When the county mayor finally allowed Phase 1 reopening, it was limited to outdoor dining only, of which RED had none. So, it became a natural progression for the two partners to look for new space and the former Mira 5 Stars in the Marea checked all of the boxes.


RED will open first with outdoor dining, takeout and delivery service. The new covered patio seats 70+ with views of the bay. Once reopened, the restaurant will seat up to 140 guests, with a glass-enclosed VIP room, oversized bar, RED’s signature wine cellar, and two private dining rooms.


Guests can expect RED’s classic menu with a few additions, including a decedent 4-course Sunday Brunch. Brunch will be served from 11:30am-3:30pm, complete with champagne, bloody marys, and hand-crafted cocktails.

The official grand opening date is still pending and slated for mid-September, but this IS Miami, so MIAbites will be sure to update as soon as we have a firm date.


RED's entire menu will be available for take-out and delivery, including the RED Butcher Shop, a menu of RED’s top-quality ready-to-grill steaks, sustainable seafood and signature spice rubs.
