Saturday Sweets: Where to Find Sweet Eats at This Year's South Beach Wine and Food Festival

In less than a week from now Food Network & Cooking Channel’s South Beach Wine and Food Festival will be taking over South Beach and even parts of Fort Lauderdale, as the 18 year old festival now spans across two counties. The food-filled weekend made up of dozens of events, celebrity sightings, and more food and drinks than you’ll find in one place all year long. Of course no meal is complete without something sweet — we’ve got your guide to the sweetest eats during SOBEWFF.

Fontainebleau Miami Beach presents Wine Spectator's Best of the Best

February 22nd - 7:30pm to 10:30pm

This walk around tasting hosted at Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the pricier tickets of the weekend, but after all it’s the best of the best. From aperitif to dessert, this event promises to make sure your glass is decadently decanted and your plate is full of first-rate cuisine. When it comes to desserts you’ll find our girl Dallas Wynne repping Stubborn Seed and Fontainebleau’s Brielle Fratellone.

Goldbelly presents Sweets & Beats

February 23rd - 11pm to 1am

It’s a late-night extravaganza at the reimagined National Hotel on South Beach as fan-favorite Cake BossBuddy Valastro, and Founder & Chief Eating Officer of Goldbelly, Joe Ariel, host a dessert party for the ages! Goldbelly will be flying in some of their favorite sweets from all across the country: savor seemingly endless late-night indulgences from the country's most decadent cakes and gooiest cookies to confectionery creations and luscious ice cream, and leave the guilt at home!

Sample sweets from more than a dozen South Florida dessert destinations and sip on palate-cleansing wines, beers and spirits from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio as the high-octane beats of DJ Irie keep your moves smooth long into the night. The Balcones whisky distillery will be mixing craft cocktails made from their award-winning Texas whiskies for you to enjoy in between bites of dessert.

Pace yourself as you take a refreshing stroll through an unending array of scents and tastes in the Mastercard Grand Tasting Tents while celebrating all areas of Miami as participating restaurants will be grouped together in culinary quadrants, representing distinct districts across South Florida -- from South Miami and Coral Gables to Brickell, Wynwood, South Beach and on into Fort Lauderdale. When it come to sweets, you’ll find plenty from Miami favorites like LA Sweetz, Pretty Sweet Bakehouse, The Salty Donut, and more.
