The NEW Schnitzel House: Year-round Octoberfest in Miami
The New Schnitzel House, a new restaurant and bar by Adam Gersten, owner of Gramps Wynwood, is excited to announce its official grand opening this past Friday, June 9th in the original Schnitzel Haus location just off the NE 79th St Causeway in what is called Shorecrest.
The latest concept by Gersten will pay homage to the first Schnitzel Haus that came before it by serving German comfort food classics with a Miami twist. The 2,200-square-foot restaurant features two bars, an indoor dining room, and an outdoor patio.
The dinner menu is made up of medium to large dishes and includes appetizers, salads, schnitzels, and more, sides, and desserts.
Signature dishes include: the house-made Bavarian Pretzel which is served with a side of beer cheese, pickled onions and house mustards;
Brat Plat, an all pork frankfurter, smoked kielbasa, Schnitzel House brat, kraut; Pickle Plate, with sweet and sour kraut, pickled eggs, bread and butter pickles, pickled mushrooms, beet turnips.
Main dishes include the traditional Chicken Schnitzel served with whipped lemon mashed potatoes and gravy; Churrasco with fried yuca, red chimichurri; Cheddar Baked Spaetzle made with cheddar gouda.
And leave room for dessert and the creamy German Cheesecake is topped with sour cherry compote.
Also offered is an extensive cocktail list. The beverage menu also features a robust natural wine list curated by Sara Ypsilanti (formerly Boia De) and a selection of German beers.
“Zicke, zacke, zicke, zacke, hoi, hoi, hoi!” (meaning something like “A toast, a toast, a cozy place! One, two, three, drink!”)
A Late Night Food Menu is available starting at 10:30PM, which features the Schnitz ‘n Frites, Currywurst, The Pretzel, Frankfurter and more.
The New Schnitzel House is located at 1085 NE 79th St and is open Thursday through Monday from 5PM to 1AM. Reservations for the dining room are available via Resy, bar and patio seating are available on a first come first serve basis. Complimentary parking and street parking is available.
