Weekly Nibble: Where to Celebrate Labor Day in Miami and Beyond

Happy Labor Day weekend! If you're looking for a way to enjoy the long weekend — we've got everything for you from brunches, to beer, and outdoor dining!

Malibu Farm

The farm-to-table dining destination with unbeatable oceanside views will be offering a special Labor Day menu on Monday, September 3 for lunch and dinner. Priced at $45 per person, guests can enjoy a three-course meal paired with an eight-ounce draft beer from Biscayne Bay Brewing Company.

Malibu Farm will be serving up Burrata and Fruit with arugula, pomegranate, sesame seed brittle and maple balsamic to start followed by BBQ favorites including Slow Cooked Pork, Low and Slow Cooked Brisket and Smoked Chicken Thighs. Diners can also indulge in sides like Malibu Farm’s popular Couscous Mac and Cheese, Charred Corn and Broccoli Mash, before finishing the meal with a chef selected sweet treat.

Malibu Farm will be rolling out their new Oyster Cart offering, priced at $3 per oyster - each served with a side of mignonette and cocktail sauce.

Tap 42, [All Locations] will be having their bottomless brunch on Monday, Sept. 3. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. guests can choose from brunch favorites like Bloody Marys, Mimosas and Funky Buddha Floridians!

The Local House

Take a load off this Labor Day Weekend at The Local House, the cozy neighborhood restaurant located in the popular SOFI neighborhood of South Beach. After a long day at the beach, head one block in to the corner of 4th and Ocean Drive and grab a table outdoors for prime people watching seating. Order a selection of All-American dishes like the Beachside Burger, Buttermilk Fried Chicken or Lobster Mac & Cheese. Wash it all down with refreshing cocktail or glass of wine and get comfy in your home away from home.

The Anderson

This Labor Day weekend, The Anderson will be hosting All Play and No Labor BBQ, a Caribbean style BBQ event with Proper Sausage on Sunday, September 2. Chef Jimmy Lebron of 27 Restaurant & Bar will be crafting a special menu for the occasion, featuring Pan Con Lechon, your new favorite Haitian Style Wings, and a variety of sausages and sides. The party will kick off at 5pm, expect live tunes, lots of festive cocktails and some cool surprises.

Biscayne Bay Brewing Company

With Labor Day approaching next weekend, summer is unofficially coming to an end in South Florida. During the whole weekend Biscayne Bay Brewing Company will be brewing up all kinds of specials.

On Friday, August 31st and on Saturday, September 1st the brewery will be having 1/2 off growler fills from 3pm-7pm. Saison will be going for half of the price for to-go 6 packs at $5.00 or a case for $18.00.

On Sunday, September 2nd the brewery will be having pitchers for $7.50 or 10 wings and a pitcher for $15.00. This special is going to be running for the UM vs LSU game. The brewery will stay open until the game ends. The brewery will be closed on Monday, September 3rd.

Glass & Vine

Celebrate Labor Day at the earthy, yet contemporary garden oasis situated in the heart of Peacock Park, Glass & Vine. The restaurant is extending their signature weekend brunch to Monday, September 3rd, serving Floridian inspired cuisine crafted by award-winning, star chef Giorgio Rapicavoli. Dig into brunch plates like Avocado Toast ($10) garnished with toasted sesame, lime and dried Fresno chile; Crab Cake Benedict ($19) complete with whipped hollandaise and Old Bay potatoes; Carbonara Fries ($12) – black truffle crema, bacon, Grana Padano; Caprese ($15) – Florida tomato, pea pesto, local stracciatella and cured meat; and Local Fish Tiradito ($15) – rocoto leche de tigre, sweet potato and cilantro. As no true brunch is complete without a few boozy selections, brunch cocktails include the Bloody Mary ($10) – sazon complete, frita sauce, lime; Mimosa ($10) – Florida orange juice and Charles Lafitte sparkling; and Sangria ($10) – Chablis, Sauvignon Blanc, passion fruit vodka, and fresh fruit.

On Sunday, September 2, Seaspice hosts an end of summer Labor Day celebration with Moët & Chandon, featuring DJs, live music, entertainers and specials on bubbly to be paired with signature brunch staples like the Seaspice Lobster Benedict, Power Waffle & Acai Berry, and Wagyu Burger. The riverside party will continue through the night, Seaspice style.

ETARU

Whether enjoying the long weekend by the beach or in the heart of Downtown, both ETARU locations are offering an event-filled weekend for South Florida locals and visitors alike to celebrate Labor Day.

Kicking off on Friday, August 31, ETARU Hallandale will celebrate its one-year anniversary with a premium tasting menu and entertainment including Taiko Drummers and a DJ during dinner.

On Saturday, September 1, guests may start the party early and enjoy an extended Happy Hour at both ETARU locations. The Happy Hour menu offers $6 signature cocktails, $5 house pours, sake and wine and $3 Sapporo beers, as well as $5 bar snacks. ETARU Hallandale will run Happy Hour specials from 12PM until 8PM and open the third-floor terrace lounge to the public, while ETARU Las Olas will offer the menu from 11:30AM until 7:30PM.

Continuing the weekend festivities, ETARU Hallandale will host a family-friendly circus-themed Kid’s Field Day on the beach on Sunday, September 2. During dinner, both locations will kick off their weekly Sake Sundays special, offering 50% off Sake Bottles during dinner.

To finish the holiday weekend off strong, both ETARU locations will host a decadent Monday Brunch on Labor Day. Priced at $55 per person, it will be ETARU’s signature brunch offering featuring bottomless pours of Whispering Angel Rosé and a robust spread of hot and cold dishes. The brunch will be offered in Hallandale from 12:30PM until 4PM and in Las Olas from 11AM until 4PM.
