#TacoTuesday at Chuy's Tex-Mex in Miami, Doral & Kendall
It's Taco Tuesday so that means a trip to Chuy’s Tex-Mex Restaurant. Now open in three locations including Doral, Kendall and Miami. Walking inside, you're greeted by a mix of Americana décor with a Mexican flair. The atmosphere is much like the food, a mix of the best parts of both worlds.
The food at Chuy’s is familiar if you’ve ever been to a Tex-Mex restaurant, but still offers many standouts with their tasty dishes. Every plate has a hefty portion of the essentials for any Tex-Mex place: refried beans, Mexican rice, pico de gallo and guacamole.
The sides are all satisfying and true to what one would expect, but what really makes Chuy’s stand out are the tacos, burritos, enchiladas and other Tex-Mex staples.
We started with the Appetizer Plate which was piled high with Nachos, Chicken Flautas, Quesadillas, Chili Con Queso, Guacamole and Sour Cream. It is great starter to share.
First thing I noticed when biting into one of their beef tacos was the tortilla. Their soft flour tortillas have a handmade feel and bite to them.
Then came the rest of the taco. The juicy, tender beef with a heaping dollop of sour cream and guacamole, a spoonful of the refried beans, a sprinkle of cheese and a couple of jalapenos for heat, all creating the perfect bite.
We also tried their chicken tacos, with charred tender chicken, rice, beans, cheese all wrapped up in that warm flour tortilla and topped with plenty of guacamole.
This winning formula was carried through to their other dishes, the "Big as Yo Face" burritos, the crunchy tacos, their piled-high crispy and cheesy nachos and even a baja shrimp taco. All fresh, all delicious, and all very much true to Tex-Mex.
Even the desserts were delicious and we shared the Chuy's Tres Leches topped with fresh strawberries.
If you are looking to escape the typical chain Tex-Mex world and trying to find a place with quality and pride in their fusion of choice, then Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurant might be the place. There are now three locations in Miami area:
