Miami New Drama: The Museum Plays at The Rubell Museum

Just until March 24th: Not quite what I would call “Play With Your Food”, but the creative team at Miami New Drama in collaboration with the Rubell Museum, is presenting an immersive theatrical performance opening February 22 through March 24, 2024

A special Pre-Theatre menu curated by Executive Chef Carlos Garcia will be offered just on performance days at LEKU, so theatre goers can dine in the top rated Basque restaurant and then stroll next door for the performances, which move from gallery to gallery to enjoy the plays inspired by the art.

The Museum Plays are an innovative and immersive theatrical experience set to revolutionize how audiences interact with visual and performing art.

Featuring new plays by Hannah Benitez, Harley Elias, Rogelio Martinez, Carmen Pelaez, Marco Ramirez and Aurin Squire. Each play will be presented in front of and Inspired by the art of Alfonso Gonzalez Jr., Jenna Gribbon, Glenn Ligon, Kaari Upson and Kehinde Wiley. The Museum Plays were conceived, created and directed by Miami New Drama Artistic Director. Michel Hausmann.

LEKU, Executive Chef Carlos Garcia, has crafted a special 3 course pre-fix dinner at $45 to include some of the favorite items including Trio de Croquettes, Mussel Calderon with Saffron, and Vegetable “paella”.
