Happy Friday! Whether you are working from 9 to 5 or paving the career path to self-employment, we can always find time for a Happy Hour (somewhere). And although this scheduled period of entertainment usually involves discounts on specialty cocktails, beer and wine, we are lining up our favorites that also offer delectable bites to kick off the weekend right.
Pawn Broker in the Langford Hotel - 121 SE 1st Street. Miami, FL/ HH: M-F 5pm – 7pm
Go all the way up. This trendy rooftop bar is the newest establishment by The Pubbelly Boys and once again they have created a unique and buzzworthy spot. Try one of their twists on classic cocktails like the Daiquiri and Old Fashioned, or ask about their daily House Punch ($7). Then order something with a little more of a bite, like the Yellowtail Taquitos in ginger-sesame soy or the popular Wagyu Beef Tartare Sliders in a parmesan cream—both are two per order and just $10.
STK Miami in ME Miami Hotel- 1100 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL / HH: M-F 6pm – 8pm
Extended happy hour and direct views to Biscayne Boulevard are just a few good reasons to love the new STK in Downtown Miami. Classic martinis ($10) like a Cosmo or Manhattan can be enjoyed at the bar as well as tender bites from their sliders menu. The not-so-Lil Burgers (BRGS) made with Wagyu beef and melted white cheddar are the way to go.
Pisco y Nazca- 8551 NW 53 Street , Miami, FL/ HH: Daily 5pm – 7pm
La Hora Loca is more than a party trend, and at Pisco y Nazca it is celebrated daily. A personal favorite, the Pisco Sour is prepared with Pisco Cuatro Gallos, fresh lime juice, sugar and a layer of whipped egg whites ($6). Another must try is the Purple Skies cocktail (also $6), which gets its name from the chicha morada—made by boiling purple corn. Bar bites are regularly changing, but you can always find Que Bestia Sliders make the list (at $9)—that’s because they are certified angus beef smothered in rocoto pepper aioli and held between pretzel buns.
Swine Southern Table & Bar- 2415 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, Coral Gables, Miami FL/ HH: M-F 4pm – 7pm
It is no secret that we love the swine, and these kind starts early. With a bar downstairs and upstairs, make room for the Swine Old Fashioned ($6). A bacon infusion with maple syrup and house made bitters; this will be your new drink of choice. Ales and lagers from local breweries are also available ($4), as is a varied selection of wines by the glass ($5). Bar bites rotate regularly, but expect to find a few odds and (pork) ends here and there.
La Moderna- 1874 Bay Road. Miami Beach, FL./ HH: Daily 5pm – 7pm
Cocktails can tell a story before you drink them. Such is the case at La Moderna, an authentic Italian restaurant crafting cocktails that will make your Christmas list. Like Harry & Sally coupled with Milagro Silver Tequila, fresh lime, agave nectar and a frothy topping ($6). Favorites here to munch on include the mini pizzas—margarita with cherry tomatoes. The tuna tartar is also surprising to the palate with a topping of guacamole.
No matter where you work or live, these are 5 fun spots to check out and wind down after a long day.
