Saturday Sweets: Father's Day edition

Hope everyone had a Happy Father’s Day and while it may not get as much hype as Mother’s Day tends to, it doesn’t mean Dad has any less of a sweet tooth.  So whether you celebrate Dad with gifts, a card or more, here are some great picks around town with desserts Dad is sure to love. Any day of the year!

Brasserie Central, in Shops at Merrick Park in Coral Gables, celebrates Dad and his sweet tooth this Father’s Day.  They will be offering a decadent three-course brunch menu featuring lavish culinary selections, bottomless mimosas, and take-away gifts inviting Dad and a guest to come back for complimentary breakfast.  But of course the best part is the dessert selection.  With six desserts to choose from it might be hard to decide, I vote everyone at the table orders something different and then shares! Let brunch get a little wild at Jungle Island’s City Hall!  Chef Luis Lopez will serve some delicious savories, but I think the highlight will be the vanilla bean pancakes and chocolate chip bourbon bread pudding.  With live music, this jazz themed brunch will be a sweet hit for any Dad.  City Hall at Jungle Island 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami, FL 33132

This Father’s Day pour on the sugar with The Tuck Room, located in the Intercoastal Mall in North Miami.  Where all Dads will be lucky enough receive a complimentary dessert of their choice.  They can choose from any of these three delicious options:

·       Ambrosia - raspberry sundae, toasted marshmallows, whipped cream, pop rocks.

·       Caramel Upside Down Cheesecake - Braeburn apple and candied pecan crumble cake.

·       Chocolate and Peanut Butter Bar - bittersweet chocolate cake, peanut butter mouse, chocolate glaze, caramel crunch.

If you want to head a little further north you can take Dad to Himmarshee Public House, where the restaurant’s chef-driven menu offers brunch and lunch dishes, including the Banana Bread French Toast, coconut crusted with sliced bananas and bourbon maple syrup.
