The Miami Design District and it’s art and retail-centric Palm Court is the perfect setting for James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Schwartz' all-new events series celebrating food and culture – The Genuine Summer Series, presented by Lynx Grills.
;For a three month run, the creative neighborhood’s nucleus with the distinctive Buckminster Fuller Fly’s Eye Dome and the oversized Le Corbusier blue torso by French artist Xavier Veilhan, will reimagine classic outdoor summer pastimes from grilling and picnicking, to a film screening and beer garden, with food by Michael’s Genuine® Food & Drink and its acclaimed chef/owner as host.
The Palm Court is also the home of Schwartz’s light and airy café, ella, making it an ideal destination for the season’s hottest gastronomic events including:

Friday, June 10 | 6-9PM Sundown Grillout- | $85, plus tax and gratuity
Enjoy an outdoor feast off the Lynx Grill featuring pairings by Wines of Germany with special attention to Riesling varietals, presented by The Genuine Hospitality Group’s sommelier and beverage manager Amanda Fraga. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour with passed bites followed by a three-course seated dinner at farm-style tables. The evening will feature live music from Marcus Grant “Mutes & Roots” Jazz Trio.
Passed Bites – Crispy Short Rib romesco, duchilly hazelnuts; Slow Roasted Pork Pizza, fig, grilled onion, fontina, arugula; Wood-Grilled Florida Shrimp dill aioli; and Ricotta Crostini apricot thyme jam alongside Local Fish Ceviche and Classic Deviled Eggs. Paired with Robert Weil Riesling Sekt Brut 2012
First– Florida Mangos with torn herbs, bean sprouts, peanuts, nuoc cham vinaigrette, and fried onions. Paired with Fritz Haag Brauneberger Riesling Kabinett, Mosel 2013 and Blue Fish "Original" Riesling, Pfalz 2014
Second – Rotisserie Leg of Lamb served family style with new potatoes, preserved meyer lemon, salsa verde, watercress along with merguez lamb sausage, pickled red onions, cucumbers, and yogurt. Paired with August Kesseler “N” Pinot Noir, Rheingau 2012.
Dessert – Grilled Peaches with crème fraîche, Florida honey, pistachios, and thyme.
Friday July 8th 6-9 pm OMG! Picnic & A Movie –$65, plus tax
A nostalgic summer-time twist on the OMG! Dinner and A Movie experience from O Cinema, this next level sunset screening will be accompanied by a meal inspired by the not yet released documentary film Search for Israeli Cuisine, directed by Richard Sherman with guide Mike Solomonov, James Beard Award-winning Chef and Author.
Three Food Stations serving House-made Pita Bread with hummus, marinated vegetables, Israeli salad and tabbouleh; Kefte Sandwiches with yogurt sauce and cilantro on a potato bun; and Chicken & Grilled Vegetable Kebabs with parsley sauce and pickled onions.
Movie Snack - Israeli-Spiced Popcorn to satisfy sweet and salty theater cravings.
Libations– A signature Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink bottled cocktail, rosé, and beer.

The Design District will debut its first-ever beer garden complete with lawn games, giveaways and Michael’s house-made chex mix.
Brews from a wide variety of our favorite local breweries, befitting the summer season.
Three Food Stations serving Sausage & Onion Hoagies with Dijon mustard and sauerkraut; Broccoli Rabe Pizza with chiles and garlic; and Mini Burgers with secret sauce, shredded lettuce and extra cheese!
