Negroni Week: Three Ingredients & One Simple Way to Give Back
It’s the first week of June and that’s means it’s Negroni Week! Negroni Week is presented by Imbibe Magazine and Campari and was launched in 2013 as a celebration of one of the world’s great cocktails and an effort to raise money for charities around the world. From 2013 to 2017, Negroni Week grew from about 120 participating venues to over 7,700 venues around the world, and to date, they have collectively raised nearly $1.5 million for charitable causes.
What's a Negroni?
The Negroni is an iconic Italian cocktail, made of one part gin, one part vermouth rosso, and one part Campari, garnished with orange peel. It is considered an apéritif.
What is Negroni Week exactly?
For one week every June, bar and restaurants mix classic Negronis and Negroni variations for a great cause. To participate, each venue signs up online and chooses from a list of official charity partners, and makes an immediate donation to that charity. Then they can return during and after Negroni Week to make additional donations to their chosen charity.
"My favorite part of Negroni Week is seeing how our bar community comes together to raise money and awareness for so many great charities. I love how our bartenders go above and beyond to honor the Negroni recipe, and how they create their own twists to this classic cocktail that showcases their unique personalities and style," says Marita Leonard, Miami's On Premise Preferred Account Specialist for Campari aka The Campari Queen of Miami.

The vision supports human health and prosperity, and secures a bountiful, beautiful legacy of resilient, wild nature. Nature Needs Half recognizes that we are part of nature, not separate from it.
