Phuc Yea: The Humans Who Feed Us Benefit Dinner
As a precursor to the wildly popular South Beach Wine and Food Festival ( SOBEWFF 2/23-2/26), Phuc Yea Chef/Co-owner Cesar Zapata and partner Aniece Meinhold will host a special dinner experience/fundraiser for The Humans Who Feed Us on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
Supporting the national project, Justice for Migrant Women, that focuses on humanizing culinary workers across the food supply chain and fostering a sense of belonging for these remarkable, mostly behind-the-scenes workers.
This boundary-breaking pairing dinner will be prepared by local chefs — covering a far-reaching range of cultures and cooking styles. Each course is specially curated and designed by each chef including; host Chef Cesar Zapata, himself; Cleophus Heddington from Zak The Baker, Diego Oka from La Mar by Gaston Acurio; Jose Mendin from Casa Isola and Patio Isola and Jon Ngygen from Tran An. The dishes will be complemented by inspired cocktails created by Ani, Phuc Yea’s cocktail master. The event begins with a cocktail hour that starts promptly at 7PM.
“Justice for Migrant Women is a remarkable organization and one that we are wholly dedicated to and believe needs the highest profile possible,” notes Meinhold, who ranks community activism and mentorship of paramount personal importance. “Not only does it shine a spotlight on the often-ignored people who help fuel the culinary industry but also works to lobby and protect those very same workers, which is a must. We’re honored to be hosting a dinner for the organization during this most exciting time of year.”
Tickets are priced at $165++ for this all-inclusive gastronomic experience. Attendees can look forward to great beats courtesy of a live DJ. The event will also feature a silent auction. For more information visit www.phucyea.com.
