Saturday Sweets: Keeping it Cool and Boozy with Frozen Treat Infused Cocktails
There are so many fun food holidays - there’s almost one worth celebrating every day. This month is National Ice Cream Month, but National Ice Cream Day is tomorrow July 16th. In honor of two of my favorite things: ice cream and cocktails, I’ll be celebrating with ice cream infused cocktails! Okay okay, some of these aren't fully ice cream. BUT the ones that aren't, DO have frozen popsicles in them that are sure to cool you down on a hot day!
It's the latest trend to hit Miami and personally I’m loving it. Here are a few places where you can keep cool while getting your ice cream fix during happy hour:
Graziano’s, 394 Giralda Ave, Coral Gables, FL 33134
De Los Apostoles Sgroppino: This Argentine steakhouse, that’s actually got four locations across South Florida, is serving up the De los Apostoles Sgroppinoon in its new summer menu. A combination of traditional Argentine gin, lemon ice, St. Germaine elderflower liqueur, and Cava, the digestive cocktail is best enjoyed after the meal to settle the stomach or to simply cool down under the Miami sun.
Wet Deck at W South Beach, 2201 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139
Frozen Bellini: The WET Deck at W South Beach combines the best of both worlds with the Frozen Bellini, featuring Belvedere peach nectar with house-made vanilla ice cream and fresh peaches, topped with bubbly prosecco and strawberries. The cool combo is best paired with Mexican-inspired bites at the new beachfront taco truck or relaxing in the garden-inspired Grove.
Hilton West Palm Beach, 600 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33401
The Single Scoop Sip: During a hot summer day in South Florida, a scoop of freshly-churned ice cream is refreshing and flavorful. The Single Scoop Sip, served at Hilton West Palm Beach combines dark rum, Kahlua, Irish Cream and salted caramel ice cream in a frosted martini glass. The cocktail is most popular during Saturday brunch by the pool, which includes live entertainment, a fun flotation menu and a tasty food menu by Chef Miguel Santiago.
Conrad Miami, 1395 Brickell Ave, Miami, FL 33131
Miami Bellini: Located in the heart of Miami’s famed Brickell Avenue, Conrad Miami, is featuring the Miami Bellini, a house-made guava and jalapeno popsicle in a glass of Syltbar, a zero calorie Prosecco. A refreshing concoction to beat the summer heat, the popsicle cocktail is best enjoyed on the terrace at the sky high Bar at LvL 25 or at the rooftop pool, overlooking the azure waters of Biscayne Bay and the Miami cityscape.
Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, One Baha Mar Boulevard, Nassau, The Bahamas
Grand Coral Strawberry Boozy Milkshake: It’s is more than a milkshake – it’s larger than life! The edible dessert tower is served at Drift at the new Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas is a sky-high ice cream treat, is a delicious combination of Ricardo’s locally-distilled pineapple rum, Smirnoff vodka, vanilla ice cream, fresh berries and locally-grown pineapples. The ingredients are blended together and topped with a large garnish of gooey chocolate chip cookies, sugar glass to replicate the coral found in Bahamian reefs, tasty sea shells and fish made out of chocolate.
