Saturday Sweets: Knaus Berry Farm Cinnamon Rolls Are Back!

knaus berry farm cinnamon rolls

As the end of October approaches, the smell of cinnamon permeates the air because it’s Knaus Berry Farm season. The delicious farm in Homestead opens on Tuesday, October 29th. Knaus Berry Farm will be serving cinnamon rolls and more until the middle of April during the Redland farming season.

Every Miamian knows the value of the trek to Homestead and the long lines that surround the infamous Knaus Berry Farm cinnamon rolls. The family-owned and operated farm has been in business since 1956 and seems to get more popular every year. Hundreds of people stand in line for six months out of the year to snag a dozen (or two) cinnamon rolls fresh out of the oven. There’s something so satisfying about the sticky pillows of dough and this Tuesday, October 29th( as the website says, “God Willing”) is your first chance to get them.

This year’s cinnamon rolls are $12 for a dozen, $6.40 for a half-dozen, or $1.35 each( no one buys just one!) and they also offer pies, bread pudding and cheesecake— and the full menu can be found here.

Here’s how to handle it like a pro:

  • Bring cash: Credit cards aren’t accepted here. There is an ATM on site, just in case you forget.

  • Stop in early afternoon: While the lines are totally worth the wait, you can still manage to avoid lines if you go around 11:30am on Tuesday or Wednesday. Contrary to popular belief — there isn’t always a line.

  • Order a shake: Everyone knows the shake line is shorter than the cinnamon roll line. Grab yourself a shake and enjoy it while waiting for the main event.

  • Stock up on jams: Cinnamon rolls aren’t the only coveted treat at Knaus Berry. The farm store also sells pies, cheesecakes, jams, dinner rolls, and fresh produce.

  • Buy in bulk: Protip - the cinnamon rolls freeze really well! Don’t be afraid to buy a couple dozen to take home. Pop them in the oven for a few minutes when a craving hits and you’re all set. No line needed.

Knaus Berry Farm is open from 8am to 5:30pm every day except closed on Sundays. Once we’re a little deeper into the season strawberries and tomatoes are available for picking. It’s a perfect family outing!
