‘Tis the season to be giving: Casa Valentina hosts Chef Panel on Give Miami Day
The season for giving is officially upon us. November 18th is Give Miami Day, and three of the city's most beloved chefs are getting together for good with Casa Valentina, an organization that helps youth ages 18-23 that are at-risk and aged out of foster care, get on their feet, to present a LIVE Chefs Panel at 10:30 am on GMD, for a conversation about food, community and building sustainability for life.
Give Miami Day, hosted by the Miami Foundation, is the single largest day of charitable giving with over 900 Miami area nonprofits all participating.

Casa Valentina is one of the over 48 social service agencies that receives healthy and delicious food rescued by Food Rescue US. South Florida.
The panel includes James Beard Award-Winning Chef Michelle Bernstein, 2021 Rising Star Chef Tristen Epps of Red Rooster Overtown, and Food & Wine Best New Chef 2020 Chef Niven Patel will join in a round table conversation with residents of Casa Valentina about the restaurant industry and how showing up for yourself is as important as showing up for work.
All three chefs represent the “Best of Miami” with their compassion for others and their passion for sustainability and have partnered with Food Rescue US. South Florida providing meals to those in need including the grieving families impacted by the Surfside condo collapse.
"Working as a chef means you’re always connected to your community, you’re providing people with food to eat, but you then have the opportunity to go further, and really get to know what it is that the community needs and wants. At Red Rooster we’re just trying to give our community a place that serves them, so that we can all be stronger together. That’s sustainability to me.", said Chef Tristen Epps.
