BLT Prime at new Trump resort in Doral

This past week on August 13th, was another one of those silly "made-up" holidays....National Filet Mignon Day. So in honor of that tender and desirable cut of beef, steak lovers can now rejoice and have their Filet Mignon, Porterhouse and T-bone away from the craziness of Miami Beach and Downtown Miami at BLT Prime in the currently being renovated Trump National Resort in Doral.

Dine for breakfast, lunch or dinner with sweeping views of the world famous Blue Monster golf course.  As the renovation continues, you can enjoy a cocktail or dinner in relative privacy as the resort is only partially occupied.  A nice way to spend a quiet evening!.

Chef de Cuisine Dustin Ward and Head Chef Paul Niedermann, whose career with the BLT family began after winning Season 9 of Hell’s Kitchen in 2011, oversee the menu. The finest cuts of USDA Prime Certified Angus beef available, including the 28 day dry-aged New York strip, Kansas City bone-in strip, Cowboy bone-in ribeye, and Porterhouse for two, are the backbone of a menu that also boasts other BLT favorites such as tuna tartare, Dover sole and lobster cobb salad. Steakhouse sides range from classic creamed spinach and truffled mashed potatoes to onion rings and hen of the woods mushrooms; desserts include a delectable peanut butter chocolate mousse as well as changing seasonal offerings.

Seafood offerings include the Seafood Platter assortment of Jumbo Shrimp, Oysters, Crab Claws, Littleneck Clams and Lobster, in addition to Chef's delicately prepared Dover Sole, Branzino and Ahi Tuna.

Both chefs have Florida roots, so guests can expect to see locally sourced produce and seafood dishes featured as weekly blackboard specials.

And as one of the new restaurants in Miami,  BLT Prime Miami is offering a Miami Spice menu priced at $39 for three courses which include appetizer choices of Burrata and Heirloom Tomato Salad, Shrimp Ravioli, Beef Carpaccio with Main Courses of 1855 Grand Island Flat Iron Steak or a Miso marinated Scottish Salmon, plus dessert of Peanut Butter Chocolate Mousse or Pina Colada Flan.

Located within the resort clubhouse lobby, with comfortable lounge seating and a dramatic circular bar, the dining room and lounge seat approximately 150 diners with seating for another 150 on the spacious veranda, and two private dining rooms seating 24 and 30 respectively. Designed by Peter Niemitz in tandem with Eric Trump, the restaurant’s interiors embrace the BLT aesthetic with clean lines, rich finishes of walnut, leather and suede blending perfectly with signature Trump elements such as intricate millwork, scrolled ceilings and natural stone surfaces. Giant floor to ceiling windows look out onto the veranda and the resort grounds beyond.

A welcome addition to the Power Breakfast and Lunch scene!

BLT Prime is open daily for breakfast 6:00 am to 10:00 am; lunch 11:30 am to 3:00 pm; a limited afternoon menu 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm; and dinner 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Valet parking is available at a discounted price of $5.00 for all restaurant patrons.
