3030 Ocean: Oceanfront Seafood Bistro & Bar in Fort Lauderdale
Sunshine, clear skies, salty seas, and relaxation are what you expect while staying at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale. What you may not expect is the fantastic food brought to you by 3030 Ocean, the resort’s oceanfront American seafood bistro and bar.
Led by Executive Chef Adrienne Grenier, a former Chopped champion, 3030 has an exceptional menu, delicious food and many options. Their staff is well trained and knew which items were naturally gluten free and which could be made gluten free for me.
The menu focuses on four (or five) “smaller” plates (dessert not included), which leaves you feeling full, but not overwhelmed. What I enjoyed most about the menu were the unique food pairings, such as the Charred Octopus with marcona almond puree, farro, blistered tomatoes, feta, and arugula.
For drinks, we had the Botanist Monster (since I am gluten free, we swapped the Botanist Gin for Tito’s Vodka) and the My Paloma.
Our first course, we selected the Head on Gulf Shrimp and the Tuna Ceviche. The shrimp, being the largest shrimp we had ever seen, was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of butter and lemon.
I am normally not one for raw tuna, but the ceviche was out of this world!
In the next course, we enjoyed the Late Summer Plums with bruleed goat cheese, roasted fennel, and honey almonds. This was my favorite dish of the meal. The blend of the juicy plums and melt-in-your-mouth goat cheese was phenomenal!
For the main course, I had the Grilled Beef Tenderloin with celery root puree, roasted potatoes, chilled broccolini, and olive salsa. The best part was that all of this was naturally gluten free (and nothing short of amazing). We also had the Crispy Jacksonville Softshell Crab, which was paired with white corn cheese grits, corn succotash, and house hot sauce (aren’t you already drooling??). This was not gluten free so I could not personally try it, but the table certainly enjoyed it.
To top off the meal, I tried the homemade sesame ice cream. Needless to say, my sweet tooth took over and the sesame ice cream was devoured.
Make sure to try 3030 Ocean on your next adventure to Fort Lauderdale beach. I promise that you won’t be disappointed!
