Delano South Beach hosts dinner series at two restaurants

Beginning this January, sbe’s signature Argentinean grill, Leynia, will be hosting special family style BBQs on a monthly basis in Delano’s Orchard serving culinary creations by Chef Jose Icardi with drink pairings by high-end winemakers to complement each bite. UMI at Delano South Beach announces the debut of an exclusive cocktail omakase dinner series this Winter. The series, will kick off on Saturday, January 27th, with a five-course omakase dinner paired with hand crafted cocktails by NYC master mixologist, Marshall Altier The menu will feature unique sushi creations and Asian inspired delicacies dishes including Tuna Carpaccio made with grated ginger and yuzu soy, Tsukiji Fish Market Nigiri masde with fresh wasabi and pickled ginger and Miso Black Cod for $140 per person plus tax and gratuity. The intimate dining experience, accommodating only 20 guests per seating, will fuse the culinary creations of Chef Jose Icardi with sips that will complement each bite provided by a variety of high-end spirits. Forte dei Marmi starts Michelin Mondays

It's not often the re-imagining of a dish comes off simple yet technical but that's exactly what 2 Michelin Star Chef Antonio Mellino of Forte dei Marmi in Miami has done with his Calamari "Tagliatelle". The soft-boiled squid is cut into delicate ribbons and shaped to resemble tagliatelle pasta and polished off with Petrossian caviar, mint leaves and Hawaiian black salt. The result is a delicate yet flavorful bite of the ocean packing a big punch that can now be enjoyed as part of a weekly 3 Course $60 menu for Michelin Mondays at the restaurant.

DASH Taste of Design to be held in Design District

This year’s DASH Taste of Design festivities will be held in Paradise Plaza, the Design District’s new cutting edge take on art, food and fashion on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 7PM to 10PM. An extension of the popular pedestrian Paseo Ponti, the sculpture-filled plaza includes architecture by Daly Genik, Freehand Buck and MOS. In keeping with past events, the 2018 Taste menu will feature some of Miami’s hottest chefs, including James Beard finalist Brad Kilgore. A special item will also be offered during the annual silent auction: a rare, signed guitar by rock legend Tom Petty. Tickets are available for a donation of $100.
