La Boulangerie Boul'Mich: Artisanal French Bakery with Latin Twist
A few days ago, MIAbites was invited to visit La Boulangerie Boul’Mich, a charming French-Latin bakery that has been a mainstay in South Florida for the last 20 years with six locations.
Boul’Mich refers to the affectionate nickname given to Boulevard St. Michel in the Latin French Quarter of Paris, known for its café culture.
We chose a morning to visit the La Boulangerie location at 1242 Coral Way, a convenient location close to Brickell that has been open for seven years. Diners can order coffee and baked goods to go or sit down to enjoy a full-service breakfast experience. La Boulangerie proudly bakes all of their pastries in-house every day, which was not surprising to hear as we could smell and see the wide array of croissants, empanadas, and pastries on display.
Our server, Ana Maria, greeted us at our table and asked if we would like to see La Boulangerie’s monthly specials, in addition to the regular menu. Upon scanning the QR code, I saw what I would be ordering: the crème croissant, a flaky croissant filled with vanilla crème, along with an iced latte. While I train for the New York City Marathon, treats like this are welcome and necessary!
My friend ordered the dulce de leche croissant and a Dulccino, an espresso made with dulce de leche. It was a decadent start to a delicious breakfast.
After the pastries, we ordered two classics for our main dishes: Croque Madame and Eggs Benedict. My Eggs Benedict was perfectly done with the eggs slightly runny and accompanied by asparagus and a grilled tomato. My friend’s Croque Madame had the perfect amount of melted cheese and béchamel sauce. Our dishes, as are all egg dishes at La Boulangerie, were accompanied by glasses of fresh-squeezed orange juice and American coffee.
Brunch to Lunch items include many versions of Avocado Toast, Pastas, Salads and Sandwiches on crusty French Baquettes as well as freshly made empanadas.
La Boulangerie Boul’Mich is a delicious spot for French food with a Latin twist that is perfect for a leisurely breakfast or business lunch. All six locations are open seven days a week from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
And if you go to their website and sign up you can score a free croissant on July 14th for Bastille Day!
