Thirsty Thursday: Where To Celebrate National Margarita Day
It’s #ThirstyThursday and tomorrow is National Margarita Day — so let’s talk about where to get your tequila drinking on tomorrow.
It seems like every restaurant or bar with tequila will be celebrating, so here’s a list of spots to get you started:
La Margarita Shop at 222 Taco
222 Taco will launch its late night concept, La Margarita Shop, on National Margarita Day. Starting at 12:22 and every hour on the :22, La Margarita Shop will be sampling a different cocktail from its signature margarita menu such as the Fresa Verde with Montelobos Mezcal, Ancho Verde, Strawberry Puree, Fresh Lime, and Agave; Banannarita with Olmeca Altos Reposado, Giffard Banane du Bresil, fresh lime, agave and miguelito; Paloma 2.0 with Milagro Silver, Giffard Pamplemousse, lime, grapefruit jarritos, tajin; and Frozen Agua Fresca with watermelon agua fresca plus choice of spirit. The celebration will continue on throughout the day into the night with an all-female DJ lineup featuring DJ Brooke G and Pam Jones on the-ones-and-twos.

Enjoy National Margarita Day specials at Miami’s only oceanfront, coastal Mexican restaurant all day. Offerings include two mini margaritas for $10, a JumboRita for $20 and guacamole and two margaritas for $25. The enchantment of Cantina doesn’t just end with the food and cocktails, the décor is just as charming. Learn to make your own margaritas at Elements in 1 Hotel South Beach
National Margarita Day Mixology Workshop
This National Margarita Day, 1 Hotel South Beach's Beverage Director, Steven Minor and Casamigos' National Mixologist Kristin Clark will host an intimate workshop at Elements, located upstairs of Habitat, where they will be teaching locals and visitors the best tips for mixing up unique tequila and mezcal margaritas for every palate. Join them on Friday, February 22 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., to sample their creations with light bite pairings throughout the class, topped off with an order from the Taco Trailer outside of Habitat. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased HERE.

Already a master margarita maker? Try this one at home:
ALOE VERA MARGARITA
2 oz. Casamigos Blanco Tequila
1.5oz. Aloe Vera Juice
.5 oz.Fresh Lemon Juice
.5oz. Aloe Vera Infused Syrup*
Method:
Combine all ingredients into a tin shaker and add ice. Shake vigorously for 8 to 10 seconds then strain into a rocks glass. Add fresh ice and garnish with a fresh Aloe Vera leaf placed in the cocktail.
*To Create Aloe Vera Infused Syrup:
Bring 12 cups of water to boil in a large saucepan. Infuse fresh peeled aloe vera and bring to a simmer. Let soak for 20 - 25 minutes then fine strain into another large saucepan. Add 12 cups of sugar and bring to boil. Stir until fully dissolved and let cool. Store in a sealed container and refrigerate. Good for 3 to 4 weeks.
