Weekly Nibble: Pop Ups, Takeovers, and One Night Only Events Galore
There’s a lot of special things events in Miami over the next few weeks. Get ready to mark your calendars because some of these are happening for one night (or day) only and a few — like the El Bagel x Macchialina mashup will probably only last a few hours. Read below to see what’s going on.
A one-night-only dinner and a brunch - hosted by internationally acclaimed chef Mauro Colagreco at Florie's, his first U.S. restaurant at the Four Seasons Palm Beach.
A TASTE OF MIRAZUR
Friday, March 15 (7:00pm – 10:00pm)
Celebrate Colagreco's prestigious three-star accolade from the Michelin Guide France for his flagship, Mirazur in Mention, France, at an exclusive dinner hosted by Colagreco and the Florie's team.This one-night only menu expresses Florie’s Mediterranean spirit and the shared characteristics of the French Riviera and Palm Beach – an abundance of sea, sun-drenched gardens and local produce. Florie’s Bar welcomes guests in a toast to the evening with a garden-driven cocktail. A five-course dinner menu follows, highlighting South Florida twists on Mirazur signatures like Gillardeau oyster with shallot cream and Williams pear declination, salt-crusted red beet with caviar cream, warm tart with asparagus and black truffle, turbot with celery mousseline, sorrel and smoked sauce and ‘naranjo en flor,’ a dessert of orange sorbet, saffron cream and almond foam. Sommelier Jessica Altieri curates optional wine pairings to accompany the multi-course menu. $285 per person inclusive of tax and gratuity.
A BRUNCH WITHOUT BORDERS
Saturday, March 16 (12:00pm – 3:00pm)
As a chef without borders, Florie’s menus are inspired by Colagreco’s multicultural background and global culinary vision, and this brunch is no exception. Offering a taste of the weekend brunch menu debuting in April, Florie’s open kitchen hosts interactive chef stations serving brunch classics like Florida avocado toast and house-smoked salmon in addition to new selections ranging from oysters and assorted seafood to stone hearth oven pizzas and langoustine risotto. Entreés like black sea bass, tandoori roasted suckling pig and beef fillet yakitori are served tableside to complement the station offerings. A dessert display presents Florie’s sweet confections including lemon tart, tiramisu, red berry tart, îlles flottantes and Saint Honoré. A robust Champagne bar offers classic mimosas and Bellinis. $135 per person inclusive of tax and gratuity.

Feast with the Beasts
Feast with the Beasts is one of the most unique and highly anticipated fundraising events in South Florida! It provides delectable food and spirits from some of South Florida's premium restaurants, caterers and beverage providers. MC Kitchen Launches Apertivo Hour
As the restaurant is approaching the seventh anniversary, its launching a new Apertivo Hour. In spirit of MC Kitchen turning seven, cocktails, wine and select dishes are $7 from 4 - 7 pm Monday through Friday.
Locals and visitors alike can gather cure their libation lust with $7 cocktails, wine and select dishes ($4 beer). Think: MC Spritz, Short-Rib Pizzette, Salumi and Cheese and of course, Italian vino.

5th Annual Wings for Wishes
The 5th Annual Wings for Wishes charity block-party event that is taking place this Saturday, March 9 from 11:30AM-4PM behind Sports Grill South Miami, for inclusion in any weekend roundups you are working on.
A can't miss event for Miami's wing aficionados, 100% of the proceeds go directly to the South Florida chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation. Hosted by Make-A-Wish Champions Gal Bensaadon and Brian R. Exelbert, two Miami professionals committed to making life better for kids with critical illnesses, to date the event has raised over $330,000 and helped grant 66 wishes.
With a goal of raising $250,000 this year, attendees can enjoy unique wing creations from Sports Grill, Chifa, French's, House of Mac, Lokal, Miccosuke, Tap 42 and Town. The fundraiser event will also feature an exciting wing eating competition and local wing tasting contest featuring over 75 teams competing for People's Choice Wing-Tasting Champion, as well as craft beer, wine and premium spirits, live music, appearances by the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders and Billy the Marlin, and fun-filled activities for the whole family to enjoy. Standard Bites Pop Up
Standard Bites is a one-night-only popup in collaboration with Chef Daniel Herget featuring Hot Chicken (03.13), Ramen (03.20), and Oaxacan Tiki (03.27) inspired food and drinks each week. Guests are invited to join anytime after 6PM and stay until whenever!
On March 27, the final iteration — Oaxacan Tiki Takeover — will kick-off Miami Music Week. Relax before the chaos with a Polynesian tiki pop-up with our friends Ilegal Mezcal and sounds by DJ Tavin.

El Bagel x Macchialina
On Saturday, March 16, 2019, Chef Mike Pirolo of Miami Beach’s rustic Italian gem, Macchialina, will be shmearing up hand rolled, baked fresh bagels alongside Miami’s favorite carb artisan, El Bagel’s Matteson Koche. Also debuting is Pirolo’s El Bagel Dip, a delightful iteration of an Italian-style roast beef sandwich – thinly sliced roast beef topped with caramelized onions and tangy homemade salsa verde served on Koche’s savory garlic bagel and accompanied by a rich, beef brodo for dipping.
Pro Tip: There will be limited number of bagels available so be sure to arrive as early as possible.
Another Pro Tip: Don’t even try asking for a scooped-out bagel.

Sopranos Dinner and a Show
Fontainebleau Miami Beach celebrates two icons of entertainment, Frank Sinatra and HBO’s “The Sopranos,” with a special performance of “Sinatra Meets The Sopranos” on Saturday, March 23. The performance, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the premiere of “The Sopranos,” will be held in the historic Fontaine Ballroom, where Sinatra himself once performed. The iconic Miami Beach hotel was also backdrop to an episode in season four of “The Sopranos.”
The evening starts with a performance of classics by Sinatra tribute artist Michael Martocci and his 22-piece orchestra, before diving into “The Sopranos”history. Actors Steve Schirripa, who played Bobby Baccalieri, Michael Imperioli, who played Christopher Moltisanti, and Vincent Pastore, who played Sal 'Big Pussy' Bonpensiero, come together on stage to tell backstage stories and take audience questions about their experience on the show.
Touting its connection to both entertainment legends, Fontainebleau offers a unique venue for fans and guests alike to experience the collaboration between the HBO drama series and the Sultan of Swoon. Sinatra often performed to packed houses at Fontainebleau’s La Ronde nightclub, vacationed at the hotel and even filmed the beloved movies, “A Hole in the Head,” “Tony Rome” and “Lady in Cement” on-property. “The Sopranos” filmed a scene for a season four episode, “Calling All Cars” at the iconic Miami Beach property.
